Maritimo is one is one of my favourite football clubs to watch at the stadium when I travel the world. And I get to see them every now and then, as I work a fair bit on Madeira Island. They have a cozy little stadium in a great setting and a very lively crowd.

Cabo Girao, on the island of Madeira is one of the highest sea cliffs in the world. And for the past 3 years it has also had a glass bottomed skywalk, where you can look 580 meters down and it is free to enter.

Painted door in Funchal.

Painted door in Fnchal.

A few years ago the old part of Funchal was fading away and shops were closing up and business moving in to the malls, leaving the old part of town partly deserted.

That was when some innovative artists got the idea to first paint the doors of the abandoned buildings and later on other doors in the old part of town with the owners permission and the painted doors has really helped the old part of Funchal.
