I just spend a couple of night at the City Boutique Hotel in Sarajevo. The place was really fantastic, so I decided to write a little blogpost about it.
Sarajevo is one of the most fascinating cities in Europe. The city has been a bridge between east and west in Europe since the middle ages and there is a fantastic mix of cultures there. I am always very happy to return to this marvellous city.
When you are staying in a nice city, it’s also nice to have a good place to stay. I have stayed in various places in Sarajevo over the years. But so far, the City Boutique Hotel has to be my favourite.
The hotel has a good location, right in the center of the city. It’s right by the market all and the eternal flame monument.
Rooms are very well equipped with a very nice big bed. A nice work table and good strong free wifi in the room, so that I could work with my computer in the room. Not a massively big room, but a room that had just what I needed and everything worked. That is my kinda hotel room.
The breakfast was nice, with some good hot choices, which I like. And also some very good quality yoghurt.
Best thing about the breakfast though, was the location. It’s not being served in some boring basement room, like many other hotels do. it’s being served in a fantastic rooftop cafe. The view from the rooftop cafe is one of the best I have seen in Sarajevo and it’s a great spot for photographers. I would return alone for the brakfast on that rooftop.
Staff was very accommodating and I also liked that the hotel also has free coffee for it’s guests 24/7, at a little self service bar.
All in all, this is a really good choice for people who want a nice hotel in a good location, but prefer to not stay in some massive chain hotel, together with hundreds of other people.
