Here is a little info to tour cyclists passing through Delhi. As a tour cyclist I know it can be a real pain to locate a proper bicycle store when you are in a big city, where you do not have much bicycle culture. So here is a little info about finding a bicycle store in Delhi, that also does bicycle repairs.

I am touring around India by bicycle as I am writing this. I was in Delhi a few days ago and needed a bicycle store for a couple of spare parts and I also needed to fix a couple of things on the bike that broke when I was touring it a few months ago in Brazil.

Karol Bagh has the most bicycle stores in Delhi.

This is the part of Karol Bagh where you find a lot of bicycle stores.

When looking for a bicycle store in Delhi, I recommend that you visit the part of the city called Karol Bagh. This is located fairly close to Old Delhi. If you head down to where DB Gupta and Rani Jhansi road meet and then head down Rani Jhansi road, then turn right at your first left. Drive about 100 meters up the little side road and you see a big building on your right. It’s sort of a small mall, but it looks very scruffy from the outside. You will see a couple of bicycle stores that mainly sell children’s bikes, but if you head inside the mall, then it gets better. Inside the mall you have several bicycle stores and a couple of them are very well stored with bikes.

Bicycle repair is cheap in Delhi.

There are several places that do bike repairs too inside the mall. I had my luggage rack fixed when I was there. I also had my spokes tightened and my gear cables adjusted. The guy charged me 3$ for the whole thing and looked very happy when I accepted that price. So getting your bike fixed or tuned up in Delhi is not expensive. It’s actually really really cheap and the guy did a very professional job.

I also noticed several empty bicycle boxes in the shop, so if you need a bicycle box in Delhi, before getting your bicycle on a plane, then this is a good spot too.
